The Songwriter's Recording Studio is proud to host the Ultimate Songwriters Workshop on January 23, 24, 25, and 26, 2008 at the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down in beautiful Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We're taking the first 600 to sign up, and registration is now open! Don't miss your chance to be a part of one of the best songwriting events you'll ever experience. We've teamed up with some awesome songwriters and business partners to make this an event you won't forget! Learn the craft of songwriting from the pro's, and hear feedback from two of the top publishers in Nashville, TN! You'll hear two seminars by Barbara Cloyd, songwriter and workshop instructor out of Nashville (read more about her below). There will be 3 concerts with headlining songwriters including Dave Berg, Annie Tate, and Sam Tate! In addition, the Hoe-Down will host a nightly jam session for all participants. The theater is ours for 4 days, and there are no time restrictions! Out of the 600 participants, 20 will be chosen as "Ultimate Songwriters" and will play their songs to two of the top publishes in Nashville. They will hear what these publishers are looking for in a song and how their songs relate to what they're seeking. All participants will be able to listen in on these sessions in order to apply this advice to their own songs. Don't miss this opportunity to get several workshops in one, meet 600 other songwriters, 5 successful songwriters, and top top publishers. We only have room for 600...so sign up now! |
One of our favorites workshops is held by Barbara Cloyd. Barbara wrote "I Guess You Had to Be There" for Lorrie Morgan, and has gained much respect in country music. We attended Barbara's "Play for Publishers" workshop in September of 2006. In 3 days we learned more than we had in 3 years from this lady. Not only did we learn a vast amount of knowledge and gain a wonderful experience, we met several well known publishers and songwriters. As if that wasn't enough, the 15 songwriters that were part of this wonderful workshop built a friendship in only 3 days that will last a lifetime. We can't say enough about Barbara's workshops. In addition, she hosts the "Ready for Row" workshop. Having learned a lot in her 20 years in Nashville pursuing her own career and working with other writers, Barbara has hit the road to share her knowledge and insights with songwriters across the country. The event begins with Barbara giving an overview of how the Nashville market works and how to work it. She covers topics like "Where the Money Comes From and How Much You Can Make," "Who You Need to Know and How to Get to Know Them," Why a Songwriter Needs a Publisher and How to Find One," "What to Do if You Live Out of Town," and "How to Make the Most of a Trip to Nashville." Since she has worked with aspiring writers for many years she has a keen understanding of what information they need and she conveys it with clarity, compassion and humor. Check out her site at www.barbaracloyd.com and be sure to apply for these wonderful workshops!
